ROBA®-servostop® Cobot safety brake

The ROBA®‑servostop® Cobot is a spring-applied, electromagnetic safety brake with hollow shaft design for use in the joints of lightweight robots.

When the brake is applied, a rotor disk is held between the armature disk and flange plate with friction lining pads in a frictionally-locking manner. When the power to the installed magnetic coil is switched on, the magnetic field pulls the armature disk against the force of the springs towards the coil carrier. The brake is released and the rotor disk with the friction lining can rotate freely.

ROBA-stop®-M Shaft Mounted Brake

ROBA-stop®-M safety brakes are designed for installation at the free shaft end. They ensure reliable holding and can decelerate moving masses or loads in motion. In case of power failure, a fault or malfunction of the servo brake in the drive motor, ROBA-stop®-M brakes hold the axis in any position and therefore prevent an uncontrolled fall or crash. This not only protects the employees against injury, but also the drive, the tools, and the workpieces to be processed against damage.

The ROBA-stop®-M brake is a spring-applied, electromagnetic safety brake.

In de-energized condition, helical springs press against the armature disk. The rotor is held between the armature disk and the corresponding mounting surface of the machine. The shaft is braked via the toothed hub.

When the power is switched on, a magnetic field is built up. The armature disk is attracted against the spring pressure to the coil carrier. The rotor is released, and the shaft is able to rotate freely.

The brake brakes reliably and safely in the event of a power switch-off, a power failure, or an EMERGENCY STOP.

ROBA®-linearstop Piston Rod Brake

The ROBA®-linearstop is designed for use in linear movements. It can be used anywhere where a piston rod is in place or can be additionally attached. It prevents inadvertent dropping or crashing of axes under heavy gravitation load.

The ROBA®-linearstop is available in 3 variations: pneumatic, hydraulic or electromagnetic. The linearstop is designed as clamping unit and is suitable for EMERGENCY STOP braking.

ROBA®-contitorque magnetic torque limiter

The ROBA®‑contitorque is a magnetic torque limiter according to the hysteresis principle.

Magnetic forces transmit the torque limiter torque contactlessly and synchronously from the drive end to the output side. Following overload, the clutch slips, meaning that the drive and output sides move with relative speed, the so-called slip speed, in relation to one another. In case of overload, the clutch torque is equal to the set torque.

ROBA®-slip hub devices are simple to use. The torque table makes it possible to set the torque according to a scale and offers considerably simplified installation.
